1. Lupis

Lupis is a traditional snack which is usually cut into a triangle shape. This cake is made from sticky rice and wrapped in banana leaves then boiled in water until cooked. Lupis is usually eaten with grated coconut and brown sugar.

The taste of sticky rice in the lupis mixture mixed with the taste of brown sugar makes a combination of flavors that fits in the mouth. Lupis is very easy to find in traditional markets in Lombok.

2. Poteng Jaje Tujak

Poteng - jaje tujak is a typical Lombok snack that is usually found during holidays or on certain events. Poteng is white glutinous rice mixed with tape and goes through the fermentation process first. Meanwhile, jaje tujak, which means pounded snacks, is a mixture of white sticky rice, black sticky rice, and coconut which is pounded and then steamed.

Once cooked, jaje tujak is usually served in cubes and then eaten together with poteng. The delicious taste of jaje tujak and sweet poteng makes this food very delicious.

3. Kue Bantal

This cake is named pillow cake because its shape is similar to the pillow you use for sleeping. This cake is made from a mixture of sticky rice, grated coconut, and salt in the middle which is given a piece of banana. This cake is wrapped in coconut leaves and cooked in a bath of boiling water. Pillow cakes are sold along the road to East Lombok during Eid or can also be found in traditional markets.

4. Cerorot

This cake attracts attention because of its unique shape resembling a small trumpet. The ingredients for making cerorot consist of rice flour, coconut, sugar, palm sugar, and salt.

All of these ingredients are cooked and put in a cerorot container made of coconut leaves that have been shaped like trumpets and steamed for one hour. Cerorot is sweet and can be eaten in two ways, namely by removing the coil one by one or pushing it from the bottom until the filling comes out.

5. Seaweed Dodol

One of the most favorite snacks that are usually souvenirs from the island of Lombok is lunkhead seaweed. This dodol has a jelly-like texture that is soft in the mouth. There are various kinds of flavors such as durian, pineapple, banana, ginger, and so on. Apart from its good taste, the content of seaweed is also good for health.
